What is Brahminins? Who is a Brahmin?
I am writing this because recently I found out after a discussion ,that yet people are still blind regarding caste and religion. This is for all those who say they are religious but yet there mind is in dark, which means they are still in dark. Before moving foreward I want to say that Brahmin is a psychological state its not really any caste or religion. So for this please go forward.
Before understanding who is a TRUE Brahmin, let us understand what is Brahmanatava( Brahminism ).
The efforts made by any human to reach a state of Total ness, Completeness in every field of Life by eradicating vices within His/her own self & developing his human qualities is Brahmanatva.
It is possible that the word Brahmin may confuse some people. Many may take pride when they hear this word. Yet many faces will scorn at this word. But the response to this word BRAHMIN and the emotions attached to it are surely because of the ignorant understanding of the word Brahmin.
According to the Vedas, the word Brahmin denotes a psychological state of Mind & does not represent any Jati ( Caste ), Gotra or color of a person.
There is no Synonym for the word Brahmin in the Vedic literature and to try & find it’s synonym in western dictionaries will be foolish.
All the psychologists of the western world have based their findings and research ONLY , repeat ONLY on mentally ill persons. Mentally sick & mentally weak persons were the hallmark of these western thinkers (psychologists, psychiatrists) . In the absence of purely SWASTHA (Devoid of any type of illness) subjects for study, their studies were based on the Mental illness of their subjects.
There was no patient, subject === who was a success in any endeavor === amongst all the patients of Sigmund Freud. AND anyway why would a healthy, normal person go to a doctor? Therefore, Freud wove all his theories of personalities around a man’s face, genitals, anus & sexuality. The same is the case with Nietzsche, Carl Jung, Adler, Genevieve. By studying their treatises, we find that they think that Sex & Sexuality is the only thing that human’s exist for.
But how to state that the principle of formulating their theories is completely wrong? They didn’t realize that any NORMAL, SWASTHA ( Healthy ) person does not require to go to a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Doctor. It is because of this that all their theories were founded on Mentally sick minds.( Delving deep into the lives of these western thinkers will reveal the depressive, psychosis ridden states of their own minds & lives . Nietzsche turned totally schizophrenic when the woman he liked preferred a student of his; same with Freud. Carl Jung was so much scared of the Church & Christ that he cancelled tickets to travel to the Vatican FIVE times !!! Talk about a Saahsii (Brave) man??? )
When seen from the perspective of Totality, Wholeness a human personality is studied in three categories:
First, mentally ill with wrong conditioning & repressive emotional state. The complete western study is in this category.
Second, thinking about a healthy, SWASTHA personality with no repressed emotions, unhindered, unblocked thinking processes and developing these to its pinnacle level. This is the Psychology of Patanjali, Buddha,Christ, jain, Sufism, etc etc etc. They have researched this to its boundaries. By taking these paths a personality develops in Totality (Current western thinking & psychology is beginning to move on this path, but Delhi abhi bahuuuuut Duuuuuuuur hai ( means the destination is not yet reached))
Yet a third stage is the Super Conscious man as envisaged by Sri Arvind & Gurjieef. The state of Super consciousness detailed in this third type shows the attribute of a person who has reached the topmost level of developing his being as a Brahmin.
The first category of a SWASTHA personality is the grossest self. We all are in this first category. To rise from here or move ahead, Doing karma & training the mind is needed. The training of mind awakens Rajas in us. The Tamas & Rajas when gain balance, the person blossoms & reaps success in all endeavors of life. But when he is doing this training, his director ( Guru ) teaches him to use his personality for the welfare of all ( Samaaj ke liye Kaarya — ARADHNAA ==== Only Humans do this, animals don’t )
All people who have LIVED SUCH LIVES WERE BRAHMINS. The Son of a Kshatriya Viswamitra, son of a Fisherwoman Vyas, Son of a Prostitute Vasistha, and Son of a Servant Satyakam were all Brahmins.
In this century, the son of a Kayasth Sri Arvind, a Vaisya Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekanand were all Brahmins === at a very high level of their yatra.
The word Brahmin is not used in the west, but that doesn’t mean that Brahmins do not exist there . Socrates, Henry David Thoreau, Emerson, Albert Einstein,Mother Teressa etc were complete Brahmins.
HOW TO KNOW A BRAHMIN ?
Read the Forty second sloka of the eighteenth chapter of Bhagvad Gita which means as follows:
To be at peace (Always) , to be at Sanyami, Pavitra ( Pure in all respect ), with immense Forbearance capabilities, Honest, Knowing all sciences & religion, & adhering to a spiritual life is the SWABHAV of a Brahmin.
All persons on this path are Brahmins. They can be Muslims, Christians or Hindus. Or whoever.
Atlast I want to say as mentioned in holy books as
*Janmana jayate sudrah,
sanskarat dwija uchyete.*
Everyone born as “Sudra” (low level of animals-mind it, I am not saying caste-we all are animals but the person who moves in right direction becomes a human being)but with the height form of Sanskar (our deeds) they become Brahmin.
So atlast I want to say that Brahmin is a psychological state.
Please read what vivekananda said on christ
“These great children of Light, who manifest the light themselves, they, being worshipped, become as it were, one with us and we have become one with them.”
It is easier to have faith in the Personal God than in the impersonal. God dons the earthly cloak. He bodies forth the creation of His own time, and casts a far-flung glance into the yet unborn to bring it into existence. He reveals Himself to each individual according to his power of receptivity.
To the beginner, Christ would immediately speak of the Personal God: “Pray to your Father in Heaven.” To the one a little more advanced, he would say, “I am the vine, ye are the branches.” But to the one who was fully advanced and his dear disciple, he would proclaim: “I and my Father are One.” We find the same truth echoed in Sri RamaKrishna’s words. He disclosed to his beloved Naren (Vivekananda)“He who is Rama, He who is Krishna, dwells at once in this body as Ramakrishna.”
It is a sad fact that often the disciples of various paths misinterpret the teachings of their masters to the extent of claiming theirs as the only Master. In doing so, they bring their teachers down to the level of ordinary men. An aspirant, they claim, in spite of high achievements, counts for nothing unless and until he is prepared to give all credit to their master. What blind ignorance! If the master were an ear-witness of his disciple’s utterance, he would burn with shame. On this Vivekananda says:
Suppose Jesus of Nazareth was teaching, and a man came and told him, “What you teach is beautiful. I believe that it is the way to perfection, and I am ready to follow it; but I do not want to worship you as the only begotten Son of God.” What would be the answer of Jesus of Nazareth?
“Very well, brother, follow the ideal and advance in your own way. I do not care whether you give me the credit for the teaching or not… I only teach truth, and truth is nobody’s property, nobody’s patent truth. Truth is God Himself. Go forward. But what the disciples say nowadays is, “No matter whether you practise the teachings or not, do you give credit to the Man? If you credit the Master, you will be saved; if not there is no salvation for you.”
An interesting event took place when Vivekananda was staying at Thousand Island Park. It was a dark and rainy night. A few ladies from Detroit had travelled hundreds of miles to find him there. Having met him, one of them humbly spoke out, “We have come to you just as we would go to Jesus if he were still on the earth and ask him to teach us.” Vivekananda, deeply moved and overwhelmed with humility, replied, “If only I possessed the power of Christ to set you free now!”
Christ unveiled the truth, “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you.” A heroic echo is heard in Vivekananda: “It is already yours… It is yours by right.” We are drawn to the famous lines of the Gita: “He who seeth Me everywhere and seeth everything in Me, of him will I never lose hold, nor shall he ever lose hold of Me.” Almost parallel to this are the divine words of Christ: “He that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
The Nazarene was a product of the East, although the people of the West have managed to forget this bare truth. “An Oriental of Orientals,” said Vivekananda of the son of Mary. It is quite natural that in the Bible we come across many images, symbols, natural scenes and simple ways of living common to the oriental countries. But what is more important, the oriental view is that this material life falls short of true satisfaction. So when Christ says, “Not this life, but something higher,” Vivekananda cannot help remarking, “Like a true son of the Orient, he is practical in that.”
Vivekananda meant that our earthly achievements, however grandiose, are in no way enough to quench the ever-pinching thirst of human souls to attain to higher life.
Christ’s body is Christianity. Christianity embodies humility. Vivekananda’s humility the entire world treasures. He once said:
If you ask me, “Is there a God?” and I say “Yes,” you immediately ask my grounds for saying so, and poor me has to exercise all his powers to provide you with some reason. If you had come to Christ and said “Is there any God?” he would have said, “Yes,” and if you had asked, “Is there any proof?” he would have replied, “Behold the Lord.!”
This means we keep on searching for Lord (God) in temples, church, mosques and every where and doing all rituals but we forget that lord is within us. You can see him only if the black cloth is removed from your eye.So how it can be removed,it can be done by doing good karmas and self studying. As there is always a blue sky but it gets covered with black clouds. And to see the blue sky a tremendous wind in needed simillairly to see the blue sky within us a wind in needed to remove the black clouds.Than only u can see the god.Try to see god in every human being and in all things.Than you will find and meet god and you alll will know what is a religion. And this was attained by all the great people like I said earlier.
